When the House passed the energy bill last week that mandates a 35mpg fuel economy standard by 2020, Toyota threw their support behind it and said "We believe it's the right thing to do." What they didn't admit is that up to that moment, they had stood opposed, and had spent $40 million in a greenwashing campaign that masked their actions with expensive spin.
