America’s clean energy revolution will deliver millions of new and decent green-collar jobs. Much has been made of that.
But what about existing workers -- and their jobs?
Good news: Some 14 million of them in 45 different occupations -- nearly one-tenth of the US workforce -- stand to benefit, too.
That's the compelling conclusion of a major new report by the University of Amherst-Massachusetts, commissioned by NRDC and endorsed by a coalition of labor and green groups. Its fitting name? "Job Opportunities for the Green Economy.”
