ABC News Sides with Oil and Coal Lobby

ABC had no problem running an ad from Chevron during the Presidential debates. But guess what? They've turned down an ad supporting clean energy from Gore's Repower America campaign.

Here's the text of the offensive ad.

The solution to our climate crisis seems simple.
Repower America with wind and solar.
End our dependence on foreign oil. A stronger economy.
So why are we still stuck with dirty and expensive energy?
Because big oil spends hundreds of millions of dollars to block clean energy.
Lobbyists, ads, even scandals.
All to increase their profits, while America suffers.
Breaking big oil's lock on our government ...
Now that's change.

We're the American people and we approve this message.

If you want to let ABC know you approve of the ad and are disappointed by their decision to refuse equal time to clean energy, click here.

The WE campaign has already generated 100,000 letters and is shooting for 50,000 more before tonight's airing of 20/20.

No surprise from the network that cancelled Ted Koppel, and now renamed the Disney-ABC Television Group. The Mickey Mouse decision explains why it's no accident that the "Disney" name comes first.

We approve of this message, is presumptious

OK I approve of this message myself, however to state "We're the American people and we approve this message" is so presumptuous and arrogant, that it WOULD be offensive to a sizeable section of the American public. Apart from that, the rest is fine.

AD for cleaner energy

How can you even consider yourself to be a news media when you are in the pocket of big oil?!

I am really ashamed to live in a country where the news media lacks such integrity.

This is the kind of monkey business that is ruining this country.

When is the media going to turn around & stop looking at the bottom line long enough to see that the whole world is demanding gumption tfor reporting what could be solutions to our many problem?!
