Candidates Accept Big Dollars from Oil and Gas Industries
Celsias has an excellent analysis of the 2008 campaign contributions from US oil and gas industries that details who's received how much relative to their competitors.
Number one will not surprise. It's Texas oil friend Rudy Giuliani, topping the list at $545,058. Runner up is Mitt Romney. His oil and gas industry contributions are at $309,933 to date.
Hillary Clinton is the highest-ranking Dem on the unsavory list at an uncomfortable number three with $220,550. Dennis Kucinich pulls up the rear with $700.
The grand total of oil and gas money that's been flowing into the 2008 campaigns so far? About $1.8 million.
