Japan has virtually no natural energy resources of its own, but it's got an energy independence plan nonetheless.

The country's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries is setting up collection boxes to gather millions of used chopsticks and turn them into biofuel.

It's estimated that each of Japan's 127 million people uses an average of 200 sets a year. That translates into 90,000 tons of feedstock.
